English in Malaysia
After the Portugal and Spain trip lately, I realised that Malaysian has a good English compared to those countries. It is really hard to communicate with them where ever you go. Majority of them do not know English. It is hard to order a meal in normal restaurant or even McD. It is hard to buy train ticket at train station. I just wondered if they would like to promote their tourist industry, why those casher still do not know English at all?
It is different in Malaysia,at least we can buy McD or train ticket easily using English.
While I attended the conference at Valencia, when I listen to other participants to present, I found out that those from Spain, Italy or scanadivia will have their typical accent for English too.
Worst still is that some of them just choose to present in Spanish. I just wonder how many participants at that time knew Spanish. How many people can understand them? When somebody ask them questions in English, they did not understand at all and need some one to translate it for them.
Hence, I think we should proud of ourself as Malaysian who know and has a good command in English.

Just came back for the 10 days trip to Spain. I felt so glad to come back. Why??? May be too many days to travel makes me tired.
Madrid is just a normal typical Europe country with normal sight seeing places like cathedral, building etc.
Valencia was great for me as I was staying in the 5 start hotel for 4 nights for the IATED Conference. It was so great for me. Nothing special to travel around here too.
I like Barcelona most with the unique and artistic Gaudi's architecture. The Olympic port is another place which seems so extraordinary to me. I like Barcelona very much. I will go again if have the chance.
But the pickpockets were so wild there. We just narrowlly escape from 2 of the events. This make Barcelona becomes a bit ugly. Thanks God.
Anyway, the food in Spain is so typical. I like the Paella and Tapas.

Time to back to concentrate for my research again before travelling again week after next to Poland for the Easter holiday.
